Reduction in illegal software
A reduction in illegal software from 27 per cent to 17 per cent would create more than 13,500 additional jobs and contribute around £1bn to UK tax revenue, (BSA).
Pirated Software
27 per cent of software in the UK is pirated, costing UK technology firms over £1 billion, (IDC/BSA, 2007).
More Jobs
A worldwide reduction of software piracy by 10 percentage points to 25 per cent could generate 600,000 new jobs and $141bn of additional tax revenue. (IDC/BSA, 2007).
Counterfeit software
Counterfeit software is used on over a third (35 per cent) of all computers worldwide, (IDC/BSA, 2007).
8 million recovered
